Homemakers To Host 2011 Scholarship Luncheon

The Niobrara County Homemakers Council will hold its’ 5th annual Scholarship Soup and Salad Luncheon on Thursday, March 17th at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost of the luncheon is $5.00 per person with a choice of three different varieties of soup, bread, dessert and beverage. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time from any Homemaker Club member, at the Niobrara County Extension Office or they can be purchased at the door.
Profits from the St. Patrick’s Day festivities benefit the Homemakers Scholarship fund. Two scholarships of $500.00 each are presented to local county residents in two out of the three scholarship categories which include: a student pursuing a college or trade school degree, a family member of a Homemaker Club member pursuing a college or trade school degree and a non-traditional student enrolled in any field of study.
For the luck of the Irish, please plan to join the Homemakers in this worthwhile project that benefits our local college students.
Then from 2:00 to 4:00 that afternoon the Niobrara County Extension Office will be hosting an Open House also at the Fairgrounds for everyone to come and meet meet Sharon Adams, the new Extension Office Manager/Secretary. Sharon began her duties at the Extension Office on March 2nd and is getting acquainted with all of the Extension programs and many of people in our county. So, please stop by, have some refreshments and say hello to the newest member of the Extension Office team!
